It's important for the institution - not just the career services team - to have a well-defined framework of CS support throughout the student's time enrolled. Students should know what to expect and when to expect it and have a firm understanding of what support and services are available to them. There should also be different types of events and learning opportunities to meet students' diverse learning styles. All of this requires systems thinking, smooth operations, and staff who remain trained through continued professional development. 

As complex individuals, we all have different learning and working styles. Our Career Services support should be multifaceted so that they serve those diverse styles. 

We are a relatively new institution in our community, which makes cold calling and outreach more difficult. Employers aren't familiar with our name and we don't have a longstanding reputation here locally. Our Career Services team will need to do some serious relationship-building and outreach to introduce our institution to the community. 

While we have advisors dedicated to Career Services, preparing our graduates for employment (and placing them) is a collective effort that requires internal coordination and collaboration.
