Activity

This module showed me that our online course designs are set up for active learning.

I have been teaching online for 16 years.  I learned that the school I teach at already does most of what this video covered so we have done a great job on keeping up with this.  The only thing I would like to apply is setting up a Wiki in my class as our LMS does allow for that.  I  will have to get approval from course development and/or program manager to do this.

I learned that we should assist adult learners in taking responsibiliy for learning objectives.   I will spend time each week in my zoom presentation reviewing these objectives with the class and helping them to focus on whether or not they are being met.

This module was scary and very enlightening. I did not realize that both the school and instructors can be sued regarding copyright material.

There is so much involved when it comes to copyrights.

Everyone involved in education should take this class.

I enjoyed learning about the True Colors personality profiling system as that was new information to me.

I plan on using the idea of asking questions on the Introduction/Ice Breakers Discussion boards that would lead me to understand the personality colors of the students.  Good information to know as we progress through the course.

I have found that this is one of the weakest areas in students.  When presented with a set of questions and one of them is a critical thinking question, some students skip the question.  They have not been taught how to critically think in high school.  I would recommend that schools implement a specific class on critical thinking as a core curriculum class to prepare students for their college coursework.
