				</div><div class="river_content_display"><p>This is such a timely discussion!&nbsp; We deal with not only multi-generational learners, but we also have a percentage of learners who have recently left the military and are returning from war zones, where manners of thinking are extremely critical and very cut and dry; we have to attempt to re-define their habits during their education, without their losing their sense of self!&nbsp; I greatly enjoy the challenge to stretch my own understanding of varied learners and am constantly researching new ways to approach these audiences to best suit their needs.</p></div>					<!-- </p> -->

To add to that frustration, students can elect whether or not they want to pick up the smartphone/Iphone/IPad when school calls trying to assist them in their success (since the majority of folks no longer have a land line!).  We have found a small degree of success with reaching out to students via Facebook and Twitter (from main school accounts--not individual instructors). 				</div><div class="river_content_display"><p>This is such a timely discussion!&nbsp; We deal with not only multi-generational learners, but we also have a percentage of learners who have recently left the military and are returning from war zones, where manners of thinking are extremely critical and very cut and dry; we have to attempt to re-define their habits during their education, without their losing their sense of self!&nbsp; I greatly enjoy the challenge to stretch my own understanding of varied learners and am constantly researching new ways to approach these audiences to best suit their needs.</p></div>					<!-- </p> -->

With that "power" comes great responsibility, and becoming well versed in assisting our students with their everyday, human, and sometimes seemingly insurmountable issues is the nature of what we do. 	<div class="river_content_display"><p>I am certain many instructors and administrators have found the difficulty of reaching students who have elected to stop coming to school due to a myriad of reasons maddening to say the least.  To add to that frustration, students can elect whether or not they want to pick up the smartphone/Iphone/IPad when school calls trying to assist them in their success (since the majority of folks no longer have a land line!).  We have found a small degree of success with reaching out to students via Facebook and Twitter (from main school accounts--not individual instructors). 	<div class="river_content_display"><p>I find it very helpful explaining to students that they should view their education as a "long orientation session" towards achieving their future career goals.&nbsp; In that context, I provide my students with the insights that some stress is good; but teaching them the difference between life stress and work stress and which one to leave "outside the door" is a great skill for their toolboxes and future success.</p></div>					<!-- </p> -->

	<div class="river_content_display"><p>So true!&nbsp; You get far more educational 'buy-in" when the students are actively engaged in their own learning process.&nbsp; Often times, these students feel more validated by participating on the front-end of the lesson rather than just listening to a "talking head".&nbsp;</p></div>					<!-- </p> -->
