Understand which student services are offered by your institution, introduce yourself to key staff you can contact in these areas, get familiar with the marketing strategies and ask for some samples.

I agree with this module about the importance that the students are well informed about the admission requirements, costs and fees, tuition assistance, all the policies and their options to complete a program.  An admission representative must be prepared to conduct a proper interview and to clarify doubts.  It is important to have at least basic knowledge about Financial Aid options and to know where the students will be referred to receive a more thorough information.

I'm currently working in my institution in the information processing field, but I have more than 18 years of experience in Higher Education, most of them working in a one-stop service position that allowed me learn aspects of the recruitment, admission, enrollment, bursar and financial aid processes.  This module has helped me to review some policies learned on the road and, hence, to understand the importance of regular training to ensure we are familiar with the rules, regulations and processes that apply to our job.
