I found the section on Licensing and Accreditation interesting. I did not know that for non-public post-secondary schools licensing is required, but accreditation is voluntary. I thought that both were required. It is important to know about all of the accreditations your institution holds as some might be institution-wide and some relate to specific departments like nursing, business, etc. This information is valuable to share with prospective students.

I learned that it's important for admissions team members to have a holistic view of the institution in order to present an accurate picture of it to prospective students. Getting involved and learning is key - they should learn about the student services, meet with faculty and staff of different academic departments, and also learn more about the marketing materials that are provided to students. An admissions team member needs to be well versed in everything about the institution. 

As an admissions representative there are more things to keep in mind than just the application materials. The admissions staff should be experts on the admission requirements for each program and the enrollment agreement, and have updated information about financial aid and who to refer the students to for specific questions. The admissions team is one of the main resources for prospective and new students so they should be prepared for questions. Also, it's important to check the Florida Commission for Independent Education website once a month for any updates to the FL Rules and Statutes. 

I learned that this is a great resource/training for admissions staff, but also for agents. I will keep this in mind as I build an agent network and make sure they complete this required training.
