What i took from this training is that i have seen these different leadership styles/traits in others without having a name to them. As in all things, i took the "good" things and threw out the "bad". I see now that some of what i thought was good was essentially a lack of leadership or using the wrong style of leadership for the wrong persons. I really appreciate the section on dealing with a challenging employee. The practice of going back to basics to determine any Knoweledge gaps that may need to be filled before i go through final steps… >>>

I think it would be fine, sometimes in a group setting the same voices are always heard.

i am looking for some input with a situation that doesnt quite fit the mold but which i am sure some of you have dealt. This employee is very intelligent and if you ask her the information, she can rattle it off without error. However, her actual work does not reflect either of the afore mentioned traits. Its full of simple errors. The errors made are on the foundational pieces of our job skills. I have spoken with her about it multiple times. She will improve for a time and then return to less than satisfactory performance. We… >>>

Unfortunately i think sense of urgency, to a great degree, must be part of their work ethic to begin with. You can set deadlines for reponse time that are easy to track and may help to have them set up calendar reminders to keep themselves task oriented. Other than this, alot is self motivation. I am a list writer and that is how i keep myself on top of my daily goals.
