Hi Pamela: Your "EC" is really a bonus for following the assignment. Therefore, since it was assigned, I would'nt really consider that EC. Many teachers will add someting like this to a test or exam to give the student an opportunity to demonstrate something they know or learned from the class that may or may not be assessed on the test. Regards, Barry
Hi Rich: Pretesting can also shed light on where to put emphasis in a class. Regards, Barry
Hi Richard: All of your listed items are good. For me, more generally, I say our goal is to try to transfer what we know to the students. They in turn, will take our knowledge, and pass that along to others who will take it further.. So I guess our goal is the transfer of knowledge for the purpose of benefiting the current and future workforce. Regards, Barry

Hi Lawrence: Coordination does take thought, planning, and effort on the part of the teacher. It helps when the teacher knows his students and their varied backgrounds, especially in the plkanning stages. For guest speakers, one really great idea is to have a fairly recent graduate, one who you consider to be above average, who is working, and have them return as a guest speaker. Although not as experienced, they do being a lkevel of enthusiasm, and inspiration that some "old timers" may take for granted. Most new graduates would be flatrtered to be asked to speak to your class,… >>>

Hi Timothy: For me, back up plans assure all the necessary material will be covered one way or the other. There may be problems related technical issues, or time issues, or student questions, too much information, (or too little). A good Plan-B or Plan-C assures what what was planned for but doesn't occur will not interfere with the student's learning. Regards, Barry
Hi Timothy: Great example of what I believe is so powerful with field trips. They open the eyes of students, are inspirational, motivate student to want to learn, and assist them visualize themselves performing these or simliar tasks. Regards, Barry
Hi Manuel: For me, frequent and personal discussions with students help develop a rapport, build trust, and provide an opportunity to offer advice and suggestions to achieve better student outcomes. Regards, Barry
Hi Manuel: When used, it can also save the teacher time in knowing where emphasis in a class is or is not needed. Regards, Barry
Hi Manuel: All media is helpful when used in the right environment. I think variety and lots of use of different media sources make for better learning outcomes, and also helps keep the interest and attention of students. Regards, Barry
Hi Manuel: I think these activities are wonderful. They're inspirational and stimulate a students desire to be motivated to learn more about their profession and perhaps do better in class. Regards, Barry
