Justine, I operate with the premise none of us is perfect and all can benefit from ongoing self improvement. I also believe student will respond to instructors who portray a genuine version of themselves, confident and sincere. Informing students of status in course

Julia, I also think adult learners want to know their status so there are no surprises. Frequent and regular status updates may encourage some students, while others will use the information to make needed improvements, as you suggest. Barry Westling

Julia, Yes, I think there is always less stress in the atmosphere when good preparation has preceded daily classes. Students expect their instructor to be ready, it's part of our job, and we set a better example by being prepared. Barry Westling

Sherile, Yes, definitely. Hopefully we can get any unplsesant behavior corrected prior to students reaching graduate level, where the consequence could be loss of a job versus a discussion from their instructor about professionalim in the workplace. Barry Westling
