Hi Ronald: Simple is sometimes the best. Back up plans don't have to elaborate surrogates for a complete lesson - just something an instructor can fall back on in a short time with little preparation, and that's realtively related to the course, topic, or lesson. Regards, Barry
Hi William: Hands on adds so much to the instructional process. Combining with PPT is terrific - great preparation for your lab sessions. Regards, Barry
Hi Ronnie: Great. You're right, simple is okay as long as it works for the lesson and the students respond. Regards, Barry
Hi Thomas: Sounds like you are using a very specific grading system that works for you and your students. Great! Regards, Barry
Hi Leslie: Getting to that student trust level is sometimes arduous, but awesome when attained. Good job!. Regards, Barry
Hi Andy: Flexibility in the evaluation is great (if you have authority to modify it - many instructors do not). Tweaking things to fit the student types, class, or topic can be very helpful. Regards, Barry
Hi Andy: I understand. Some instructors are just set against EC. But others are fine with it. Mainly, if it's used, you want to make sure its fair and available to everyone. Regards, Barry
Hi Andy: Great. Student Learning Outcomes (SLO's) define the class and help determine what you're going to assess. Regards, Barry
Hi William: Wow - so important! Control of temper and emotions can turn an ordinary class day into a regrettable experience for all concerned. Yes, self control is an attribute of experienced instructors in touch with their emotions. Regards, Barry
Hi Andy: In the case you describe, that is a perfect example of when your back-up plan is needed and saves the day. Regards, Barry
