i learned about the different kinds of testing methods and how to apply each one in my class

i learned how to apply blooms taxonomy and CAT's to help assess the students retention of the material

i learned how to apply the Socratic  method when asking student questions. i also learned the importance of pausing after asking a question to allow the students time to think of a response.

take the time to learn how your students learn the best and then use the various types of teaching to deliver that knowledge effectively  

get to know your students. the more you know about each students background or life experiences the easier it will be to motivate them and for them to retain the knowledge being taught. 

being enthusiastic about what you are teaching goes a long way with the students and helps them to be more engaged in the lessons. 

treating the students with respect and learning their names early are great ways to build rapport with them. maybe even sprinkle in a joke here and there.

i have learned that all students come from different backgrounds and have many different needs. listening to them to help better understand those needs is vital.

i learned about the different learning methods and lecture styles. preparation is the key to success

i learned some effective tools for learning the students names and making a good first impression
