It is important to validate students' progress and ensure that the feedback provided is detailed and specific to the task at hand. It is also important to use the student's name within the feedback to ensure personalization of the material.

Hello Everyone, Rubrics are a great tool for the online setting as a means to show students how they will be evaluated within a given task. By presenting the rubric early on students are able to develop a plan of action in meeting the requirements. I have found this tool to be successful within all courses instructed. Students are also very receptive to this way of assessment as well. They are confident with the requirements and are able to view specific areas of need and strength.

Hello Everyone, When developing a course it is first important to understand the ending objectives that should be attained from the students. When a person is able to understand the end expectations of a course development of the assignments and lectures can be developed in connections. It is also an important element to incorporate various learning strategies and techniques to support all students' learning. As a final element, the development of detailed assessments and alternative means of assessing students is also needed as a way to develop a successful course format.

Hello Learners, In terms of eye contact within the online setting this would relate to maintaining communication through email and within the discussion forum. As an online instructor it is so important to create a positive rapport with the learners and give them all the resources needed to be successful. When conducting live chats, I always welcome each student to let them know that I am aware of their presence and always open the forum to questions and comments.

I feel that presenting a professional image as well as being a leader within the field of study are important aspects in creating an online setting. This approach is productive and supports student growth. Within an online setting the professional approach is being knowledgeable and sharing the course information effectively.

I found it very interesting that in fact students can also find a way to cheat within the online setting as well. Within many online courses there are elements implemented to discourage this type of behavior. I will be able to adapt some of this information for use within the online setting as well.

This module has provided great suggestions for creating a productive classroom setting. This information has also given me ideas for creating an effective online setting.

I have found that by setting due dates and creating effective expectations in terms of submission deadlines, student are more eager to participate. Taking the time to provide a penalty for late assignments and still accepting the work allows students to understand that their work is quality but will have penalties.
