I already use most of these question types but now I understand the significance of them and what they are actually able to access. 

Ask good questions. Allow students time to formulate their answers. Ask the answers that need to be asked to insure student understanding.

Students need a clear understanding of what will be expected of them as well as knowing exactly how they will be accessed. Technology in the classroom is a must have.

I will hook my students early with an informative, yet fun activity and I will check their understand of the lesson at the end of class.

Be prepared and always show confidence in in your ability to convey your information to your students. Demand respect but it should always be reciprocal. Show compassion and be firm. Be consistent in all you do. When you make a mistake and you let your students know, it will usually end up being humorous and that's a good thing. It's the difference between men and machines. Love your students. They should be the reason you're there.

One should listen to their students and get to know them. I have a couple of quiet students and now have some ideas to help them feel comfortable in the classroom and hopefully bring them out of their shells a bit more. 

lots of good advice for the classroom here. Moving the back row to the front and explaining that they will benefit from it is excellent. A limited number of answer cards for my talkative ones will allow others to answer the "easy" questions. Understanding what engages students is crucial and many times it's not the curriculum but rather the student's daily life that is hindering them. We have got to get to know our students.

I learned that I am a SME and have Quite a bit to learn in order to become an IDE! I will revamp my course syllabus to show from a student's respective what will be required of them as well as timelines. I liked the idea of team formations using the paper airplanes! Teaching them that working together can Improve their skills on the first day is a great idea.

Reasonable accommodations are a must in the classroom. Roosevelt said it best. "We know that equality of individual ability has never existed and never will, but we do insist that equality of opportunity still must be sought"! This is going on my wall.

there are many types of mental disorders in our classrooms today. If we are trained in some of the symptoms of these disorders, we may be able to recognize and accommodate these students more effectively. I will get to know my students better and be patient with all my students. Every day is a new day.
