Students need to know what behaviors are acceptable and what won't be tolerated from the first day of class. It is important for instructors to be attentive and listen. Instructors are challenged by students negative attitude, but instructors who try to make connections between students and their interests can help to improve students' attitudes by showing them how the material they are learning is interesting and practical.

I have noticed the challenge with students today is the usage of their cell phones. We have a policy of no cell phone use in class, but the challenge is when you notice student trying to sneak and text during class.

I find it is helpful to use tactics to help adults students decode information that is being presented to them. However, when working with adults, instructors are challenged with making sure we continue to provided them with self-confidence. We must continue to build our students up and help improve upon the decoding methods to retain medical terms and vocabulary.

The incorporating the four parts allows student to remain confident and motivated to learn. The process of reviewing occurs when students need to draw on and apply previously taught knowledge. Instructors must incorporate and organize review to facilitate better learning, longer retention, and better application.

Listening skills are an incredibly important skill for teachers. It is difficult for a teacher to know what needs to be taught unless he can hear what is missing, what needs clarification and what is understood. If a class of any age feels the teacher does not hear them, their needs or their concerns, then the learning will suffer whether the teacher knows it or not.

To attract students a educational institution must work to improve on diversity, provide mentors to ease the transition into college life, and hire and retain faculty who reflect the school vision and values in everything they do. Students need on-going support as well as activities to interact with each other. Activities increase exciting as well as adding fun. In November 2008 one teacher out of Charlotte-Mecklenburg system in North Carolina was dismissed after a probe uncovered numerous questionable web postings. How can we monitor and encourage doing the right thing?

These school-aged children are now adults and are going back to school. Insturctors are willing to help all students with any type of disability, but students with disabilities have to self-advocate. Matching their strengths and abilities is key to the sucess of a disablity learner.

With the change in population and the increase growth rate of children with learing disabilites it is imparative that instructors understnd some of the challenges these students are facing. Insturctors must be aware of the multicultural curriculums, the use of culturally sensitive assessment and intervention strategies to retain, educate, and respect the needs of the diverse learners.

Learning Group provides fun learning activities for students of all ages. This gives them a chance to bond and bounce ideas off of each other. Learning groups also help students who are shy to participate and be part of the spot light.
