I found the line-item breakdown examples to be very useful. There are so many aspects that go into planning an event and you can't forget to account for every little thing.
I found it interesting to learn that there is a difference between a job fair, career fair, and career expo. I think that adding in a virtual hiring event would be beneficial to students who may have limited transportation and childcare.
The response sequence serves as a helpful formula to stay on track with the messaging on both ends and ensure that the recipient is heard and feels understood.
I look forward to using the Pretend technique to motivate the student to produce their own best solutions to problems and show them how capable they already are.
I appreciate the GROW model and believe it will be an effective tool in guiding students through the hesitancy they may face in searching for a job and the fear of success.
This module reminded me to listen for goals over problems. We must collaborate with students to help them make informed decisions based on their interests and needs that lead them to their goals.
