Activity

Medical terminology does require repetitive learning and other avenues to help retain the terms.  There are some great ideas to use in class.

Group activities are the best type of learning and integrating new students to the class.

Using group activities is a great way of introducing new Students into the class.

Stress can be reduced, eliminated or other alternative plans made to help reduce the stress.  For instance, make a sheet cover so the Students don't play with the CPR dummies.  In seriousness, we live this stress because it meant "success" or we thought there was no way out of our stressful situation.  If we are unable to eliminate or reduce the stressor there are other avenues to help cope with it.  For instance, find a listening ear, breathing techniques, exercise, get enough rest or even keep ourselves hydrated.  The key here it to know when stress is effecting our bodies… >>>

Writing a stress list will help me clear my mind and realize if there are any adjustments I need to make.

I had a habit of checking my e-mails and the urge to respond whenever I received a new e-mail.  It's okay to allot a certain time of the day to check e-mails.

Staying organized is most critical when lowering an Instructor's stress level.  The "to do list" sounds time consuming but in the end keeping track of your thoughts is very important.  At times we tend to forget what needs to be done.

In this day and age not incorporating technology in some form we are limiting the students on their "hard skills" as well as how most of the work field functions today.

The work environment is the most popular place where we assume only team work exist. What Students fail to learn\realize in higher education is team work also exist in the class room.  There are many ages, demographics and stages of life persons who also need to get along in a group\educational setting.  As an Instructor, I got a "aha" moment of how important it is to lay the foundation of what "team work" really is even in the educational stage.  the students have the same goal to graduate and level-up in life.

Critical thinking has been a useful soft skill and often underdeveloped.  What I learned is how to inspire and develop my Students' critical thinking skills.
