I originate from Niagara Falls, NY of parents from Poland and Germany. I attended parochial schools from K thru university. Worked mainly in the OR after 1 year in the NICU. After working in NC at UNC @ Chapel Hill for 5 years, I received employment working for the Royal Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh, KSA. There I trained to be a cardiopulmonary perfusionist as well as a first assistant in pediatric cardiac surgery. Returning home after 5 years overseas I became CRNFA certified and started my own business contracting to hospitals in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area as a cardiac surgery first assistant. Was placed to a rural hospital in Lufkin, TX where I attended Texas Woman's University in Houston, TX and received my MSN in Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. During my career I volunteered in Palestine (Gaza & West Bank) and completed 12 Plastic/Reconstructive/Burn surgery missions with Operation Smile and PCRF (Palestine Children's Relief Fund) where I specialized in the care of children with cleft lip & palate, burns and hypospadias repair and used my Arabic language skills to navigate the culture there. Recently I retired from cardiac surgery where the cardiac surgeon and I specialized in repair of Type A dissections of the aorta at Banner Thunderbird and robotic lung resections at Abrazo and HonorHealth hospitals. I was always interested in teaching nursing but never pursued it until I saw adds for employment at Arizona College of Nursing in Tempe, AZ. Currently I am working on opening a Vein Clinic in northern Scottsdale/Cave Creek area with 3 investors, perform outgoing physicals for Veterans leaving the military or updating their disability claims. I live in Fountain Hills with my wife, a psychiatric NP, and 3 rescued dogs.
