When presenting materials during letures, I try to bring in "real life" experiences to share. The students seem to relate to this and I think it helps them see the relevance of the material being presented.I can see their attention heightened when storytelling begins.

Thinking back at how my instructors taught, I really enjoyed hands on activities. I found these most interesting, and because of the repetition, I was able to develop the skill being taught. Today, Power Point gives the instructor the ability to make lectures more interesting through the use of slides and I feel is helpful in keeping the students of today more engaged.

I found this particular information very helpful. As a new instructor, I have been observing in classes and have seen how some students like to be "center of attention" to the point of other students showing facial frustration. I plan on using these techniques when I begin my own classes in a few weeks and hopefully creating a balanced learning opportunity for all students. Stay Tuned!

If we as instructors use multiple testing formats for our students, because of the difference in formats the student will need to put forth perhaps a little more effect for the exam. This is to the benefit of the student.

Motivation is key to students learning and wanting to learn. However, keeping all students motivated is a challenge. We all know that some students will never be motivated to do anymore than the required to get by. It is those students that keep me motivated to better myself and my teaching abilities.

Because of the current economic situation in this country, there are more adult learners entering career colleges because they need to acquire a new skill. Am I right in assuming that the retention of this particular type of student would be higher because of their need to provide for themselves and their families?

Since the field of teaching is new to me, I can see how lessions plans are an important tool. Are there any online resources available with examples?
