Different types of assessment will provide different levels of evaluations for students

Actively listening to a students question will build credibility not only with the student but with the other learners in the classroom. This should give the others more confidence in asking questions in the future. 

The different styles of learning is nothing new but learning that a student can score 10-15% higher if you teach their preferred learning style was eye opening. I think its also important to know that while everyone has a different learning style sometimes you wont be able to accommodated all students.  But as long as you are an effective teacher it shouldnt have a big impact on student learning and performance. 

I am getting to teach my first class in a couple weeks and Ill be sure to avoid some of the mistakes that firs time instructors make. I will not let the students know that this is my first class until the end of the course so they can give me proper feedback. My course has feedback sheets for every lesson and I plan on teach a few lessons for the 3 week class so ill be able to apply that feedback and change how i teach for the next class in March. 

I thought these series of lessons really give me an understanding of how to deal with angry students. Having them vent or write up their complaint is a good idea. This will let them take some time to formulate a coherant response which may lead them down a path of an unjust complaint. Sometimes people just complain for the sake of complaining. 

As a student for much of my lifetime I have seen each type of student as a peer. Now understanding there is a way to counter or mentor each type or guide was a great lesson for me. Now as an instruction I will use these tips to help control the class. 

I am getting ready to teach my first class but it is with a group of instructors. Unfortunately I am going to miss the first week of lecture due to a work trip. I will miss the icebreaker and part of the bonding for our 3 week course. The big thing for me when I get back is to reiterate what has been taught by the other teachers and continue to instill that standards such as the syllabus.
