I feel more equipped to notice student behaviors as they relate to trauma. 

An astonishing 59% of teens with PTSD will turn to substance abuse. That's incredibly high.

It was astounding to me that 25% of youth will experience sexual violence before they turn 18. I had no idea the number was so high. This makes me look at my classes a lot differently.

I found it very interesting that PTSD is on the rise in America's youth.

While some classroom rules might seem like common sense, kids will prove time and time again they are not if you don't lay out your expectations from the beginning. 

The PBIS resources are going to be a huge help moving forward. 

Reading through this section, I realized that my district does have these leadership/mentorship roles in place. It's very encouraging to see my district is taking necessary measures to ensure CTE teacher success. 

While many of the concepts in this lesson aren't new in the professional realm, I found it to be a very thorough review of why the separation between teacher and student are needed - especially digitally. 

I had no idea CTE was such a long standing program. It was extremely interesting to lean how the world wars effected the growth of CTE availability.
