questions asked in a fun and exciting enviroment

I have found that when it comes to question and answer period I have had much success with the inclusion of fun noises and soft objects tossed around the room. If a student doesn't know the answer they are to toss the soft object to another classmate for support. This has lent itself to stress reduction in the fear of being wrong and not knowing an answer and in team building. Teaching clinical skills through Minds Eye

I am an instructor in the field of dental assisting. I am a very visual learner and must be able to see it to do it. In clinical instruction I create the visual as well the written and verbal instruction. I am interested in learning from others that instruct in the clinical realm as well.

The perpetual interrupter

I have staff that come to me for things they should be able to handle and due tomy slight ADHD I get involved and then off task. I am working on saying no this is omething you can handle come tell me how it goes, if it isn't too important.

Overcoming a strong foreign accent

WOW! Todd am I missinterpreting what you have stated here? I have been seeing this situation as a struggle as an instrutor and coming from the position that the student had the disability by MY not allowing myself to hear her. I had her pegged as unreachable/unteachable. This student will be the one that teaches me not to just teach but the reach and then teach. It is like that in all we do. Overcoming a strong foreign accent

I have a lot of diversity in my dental assisting program. Where I have trouble is helping a student from another country, say Russia, Germany and Latin. Dental assistants are required to educate the patient and to deliver clear post operative instructions to their patients. I can barely understand the student when they are speaking and I am not sure how to coach them in 7 months to loose the accent so they can be better understood? Can anyone offer and suggestions?
