I really enjoyed Course 310 on Medical Terminology. The students love the game activities and I really enjoyed learning of some new fun activities to implement! Great ideas and students love the small-group competition.

Yes, Dr. Meers. I try to hold them accountable for their actions or in this case, inactions, equally across the board.
After working in the field for over thirty years, I know that these "soft skills" are what the employers are checking closely!

I agree that while it's important to listen to a student's concerns, it can quickly get out of hand. Other students chime in, and the next thing you know, it's one big "compaint-fest". I will listen to the student and try to direct them to the appropriate administrator, or ask them to speak to me after class to avoid an out of hand group discussion.

I often find that my older students express frustration regarding how much the younger students are "babied" along.....for example, allowed extra chances or extra time to complete projects. I don't allow this in my classes, but it is tolerated in other classes. The older students express their frustration to me. How do I handle this situation without denigrating other instructors?

I also really enjoyed this course. I am working on implementing more and more short online videos. It does take some time to wade through the 'junk' to obtain just the right video, but well worth the time in the long run.
