I agree. A veritable wealth of information. It is a medium range goal to institute these techniques but the plan is to continually be mindful of them and constantly moving forward until they are all in and all mastered.

Incorporating Ethics teaching with computer skills education.

Ethics should be taught as a critical and integral component of computer skills. Comparing this with the option of teaching ethics separately leaves the door open for students to disconnect or not associate the importance of ethics in the learning they are currently engaged in unless it is injected into the curriculum. Presenting ethics as necessary and in fact re-iterating that ethics and business go hand in hand prepares the student for greater success in the work force. I transitioned from being a professional technician to a professional educator of technicians. I have been doing this for about 3 years.

]]> To achieve maximum success as an educator it is cruicial to create intrinsic motivation in each student. To that end, each student must be assessed as to what their individual needs are to be able to convert their extrinsic learning style into an intrinsic learning style.

By re-directing the focus from immediate gratification to long term gratification and demonstrating the impact they will have on the lives of others is one way to convert the extriniscally motivated student to an intrinsically motived student.

It is when that transition occurs that the student starts to see all of the potential ahead and make the concious committment to pursue an even greated level fo understanding and knowledge.

The three key elements of instilling that transition are:

1.) Mastery: The self satisfaction and personal pride of mastering a given subjust or task becomes a perpetual energy to drive the student forward again and again,

2.) Autonomy: By giving the studen the freedom to adjust or create his own learning style or envornment a student becomes more interested in learning.

3.) Connecting to Purpose" The student has to have a buy in, they have to see that what they want to do is going to be of a benefit to both themselves and the world around them.
