This module really opened my eyes to how much thought goes into creating fair and effective assessments. I learned the importance of designing tests that truly measure what students have learned rather than trying to trick them.

This module helped me better understand the importance of using both formative and summative assessments to measure student learning and growth. I also learned how Bloom’s Taxonomy provides a clear framework for designing lessons that move students from basic knowledge to higher-order thinking.

This module helped me see how questioning and learning chains go hand in hand to create meaningful learning. I learned that questioning isn’t just about checking for understanding. It is about guiding students to think deeper and connect ideas.

This module reminded me how important it is to recognize that students learn in different ways. I learned more about the four main learning styles—auditory, written, visual, and kinesthetic—and how using a mix of these approaches helps reach every learner. I also realized that I tend to teach in my own preferred style, so I need to be more intentional about varying my instruction.

This module helped me understand how important it is to provide the right accommodations and modifications for students with learning disabilities so they can truly show what they know. I learned that these supports don’t change the standards—they remove barriers so students can focus on learning instead of struggling with how to access the material.

This module helped me better understand the challenges students with learning disabilities face when transitioning to college or the workforce. I learned that many of these students have average or above-average intelligence but struggle because they don’t always receive the right accommodations or know how to advocate for themselves. It reminded me how important it is to listen to students and encourage them to speak up about what they need to be successful. 

This module helped me realize just how many different forms learning disabilities can take and how unique each student’s experience really is. I learned that these challenges often go unnoticed because they’re not visible, and that early identification can make a huge difference in a students success.

This module reminded me that learning disabilities are complex and unique for every individual and having a learning disability doesn’t mean someone lacks intelligence. It simply means they process information differently. It was also interesting to see how much history and research has gone into identifying and supporting these learners. Moving forward, I plan to be more intentional about recognizing different learning needs in my classroom and using strategies that help every student feel capable and supported.

This module reminded me that even the best teachers make mistakes. What matters most is how we handle them. I learned that using humor, staying organized, and keeping a professional image helps build trust and respect with students. It also reinforced how important it is to stay prepared, avoid negativity, and focus on creating a positive learning environment.

This module reminded me how important it is to stay present and aware of what’s happening in the classroom. By simply walking around, observing, and paying attention to body language, we can catch small issues before they become big ones.
