In my online setting, I always try to avoid group presentations because of issues with work schedules and complicated makeup times. However, I do see the benefit from an active learning perspective. This allows me to be the facilitator, but help the students understand and demonstrate the material in a way that is very hands-on. Using rubrics to assist with group activities is a great idea. This can help force responsibility on each member of the group as well as how do they interact as a whole. 

It is important to have proper and clear instructions for your content and modalities. Students should be able to clearly navigate through their assignments/assessments with minimal clarification. If clarification is needed, the instructor should be able to reach out in a timely manner. 

It is important to have proper organization when delivering material in an online course. The student should feel comfortable navigating through the online portal system in order to find homework assignments, quizzes/exams, and reading content. This helps to reduce anxiety and stress for the student, and allows for a smoother teaching experience for the instructor.

Constant communication as well as individual student feedback is a great way to establish belonging and meaning for the student. 

Technology tools are crucial to teaching in an online environment. However, not all students or instructors are comfortable with technology and understanding how to navigate effectively. There are several different tools and resources available that instructor must be comfortable with using as well as sharing this understand to the class to better help them in the future.

Providing different forms for student communication is key along with providing feedback, having appropriate rubrics, and utiilzing assessments to benchmark student retention and participation. 

From this learning section, the goal is to create a format and template that is easy for the student to understand and navigate. I will work to create consistency in each module to help students understand material, locate resources easily, and feel empowered as opposed to overwhelmed. 

In this section, I have learned I should avoid promising immediate responses; however, try to maintain, as a minimum, a 24-hour turnaround time. Some inquiries may require shorter turnaround times and using my discretion. 

In this section, I will take the opportunity to personalize my responses and control the pace of my text chat by maintaining a continual flow of information between you and the participants. 

This portion attempted to show the importance of creating a positive experience with students and that increases student learning and student success. I learned that I should take more of an opportunity to share information about myself such as experience, credentials, and education to have an interative method and create rapport with students.
