Make sure to give accurate and precise information when it comes to your institution and do not "guesstimate"!

Being honest and transparent with perspective students is so important! I also learned that if a student plans to transfer schools, it is up to each institution to decide if the credits will transfer to their school.

The Triad of Regulations work together to make sure that educational institutions are meeting certain criteria and benchmarks in student success rates as well as job placement rates.  I also learned that even though the University is accredited through a regulating body to receive Title IV funding, certain programs still have to go through state accreditation for licensure or certification.

Helping guide students to build upon prior knowledge is important. Our purpose as the instructor is to make sure that we are steering our students in the right direction and that they are achieving the level of comprehension necessary to be successful with the information at hand.

I have learned that consistency is important so that our online learners can quickly identify what it is we are looking for from them to be successful.

Institutions should develop a protocol for instructors to follow regarding the use of all types of information!!

Setting a good example for our online as well as in classroom students is so important.

Understanding fair use and copyright laws is so important and this is an area that I am not clear on. This lesson clarifies and answers many of my questions.

I will be more aware when adding images or videos to ppts to make sure credit is given to the author. I will also be more aware as I am grading my students work to make sure all information is properly cited.

I feel critical thinking is a skill that we must possess to be successful. Unfortunately, this is a skill that many students are deficient in!! We can help them build this skill through active learning!
