Just completed ED112 Security and Autonomy of which motivation was a major piece of the subject. The importance of motivating the students in the course is unspoken. The course reviewed what motivates and to what degree and how the adult student perceives different events within their learning process. I feel personal motivators do get the students to our classroom and if we hit on the structured points reviewed in this course in our classrooms of security, effective / enriching class content and engaging classroom activities and autonomy in our learning environments, we will not only, as instructors, satisfy our objectives… >>>

ED110 does give one food for thought. And yes it is much of what one would already know, but I also can see where it would offer someone that doest not recognize a stressor and its cause something to think about. Good points were made throughtout the lesson as mentions by Cheryl about the piles on the desk. In one breath one needs to be organized and in the next "if it ain't broke don't fix it! I just completed ED107 and felt the course material as the other Max Knowledge courses I have taken was quite informative and eye opening in areas that I thought I was comfortable in. Understanding the benefits and importance of two-way communication and learner retention is so vital to the learning process. Also, knowing how to be effective in both areas is so key to the process of being a sucessful learning facilitor. Greatly enjoyed the course.

Very interesting course. I enjoyed the information and have been learning to utilize active learing strategies in the last year. I have noticed how the students definitely gravitate to the style and seem to have more comfort and interest in class activities. Active learning also gives plenty of opportunity for immediate feedback and for the student continual self assesments, especially with respect to other students. Good class, worth the time.
