I got a better understanding of Gen Y and Gen Z and how they prefer to learn.  I learned what is required to better engage these younger gerneration students.  I intend to apply this to better engage students and facilitate theri learning.  I will keep in mind that the younger students tend to disconnect after a short time in lectures.

Got a better understanding about why the Gen y and Gen Z have developed such a dependancy on their devices, and how they feel the need to be connected.  Intend to explore more/better ways of using technology to keep students interested and engaged in the classroom.

I have learned to identity the different generations, and learned about their learning preferences.  Also learned about how technology has come into each generation's lives and how each generation adopts technology and lives in an connected world.

From this topic I learned how different each generation is from one another, and how their experiences shape their behavior.  I intend to apply this to better understant students and how their experiences may impact theri behavior/performance in class.  This will help me by being able to seeing things through a different generations perspective.  By understanding "where a student is coming from", I can try to engage him/her more in the class with more success.

I have learned that gamification and making use of experience points, progress indicators, leveling, and leader boards will help better engage my students.  By engaging the student, they will be more motivated, and have more enthusiasm to be in the classroom which will help with retantion and completion.  I entend to make use of progress indicators, and leader boards which should be easy to implement.
