About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Stephanie, Great variation of teaching methods. You do a super job trying to keep your students excited and motivated. Patricia
Hi Elizabeth, I've encountered this as well. Some students simply will not open up, it is truly their personality. I continue to involve these students as much as possible, and I make it a point to have small talk with them daily. Patricia
Hi Clifton, I concur! Guest speakes can be very motivating as long as they are excited about their line of work. Patricia
Hi Fred, The syllabus is definitely a road map to clear concise course requirements. It makes things even clearer when students are allowed to ask questions, and the questions are addressed. Patricia
Hi David, What type of examples have you shared with students and what were their reactions? Patricia
Hi Stephannie, The angry student's tension really is eased once the student is listened to. Everyone wants to be heard. Patricia
Hi Janice, I like how you make yourself unpredictable during test time. Students know at any given moment you can walk near them. Patricia
Hi Janice, Putting something in writing makes a world of difference. Students tend to take things more seriously whenever it is written. Patricia
Hi Maria, Absolutely! Respect is earned based on professionalism. Patricai
Hi Rhonda, Seniors or not, we all make mistakes, accept them, learn from them, and move on. Patricia
