About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Mark, I certainly understand your challenges! Great way to handle these military folks. It sounds like you handle them very tactfully and professionally. Patricia
Hi Anthony, Students need to and love knowing that the instructor is there for them. We must always remember that students are the most important people in the building. Patricia
Hi Loraine, Great way to lead into the first day! Students want to and nead a full explanation of the syllabus so that there are no misunderstandings. Patricia
Hi June, Nicely said! It is simple, lead by example. Patricia
Hi Linda, Absolutely! Lead by example! Patricia
Hi David, This is definitely fair punishment. I also like how you talk to the student about this act. Patricia
Hi Teresita, Some students simply do not pay attention while a concept is being taught. Once you discover that a student is not paying attention have a firm private conversation with this student so that things can improve. Patricia
