About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Jennifer, Having the blinds open can be up lifting in itself. There is nothing like being able to look out at nature. Patricia
Hi Rene, I agree! I also like to talk about the potential income every opportunity I get. Students are motivated when it comes to money. Patricia
Hi Jennifer, I too have encountered a lot of female as being angry students. Men are a lot more tolerant/patient. Patricia
Hi Rhonda, Issuing different versions of a test is a smart idea to prevent cheating. Patricia
Hi Sharon, I love this quote! Students will typically follow the attitude of the instructor. I love putting positive quotes on the board for students to absorb and reflect off. Patricia
Hi Amy, A dark room during PowerPoint presenation does not help the situation for tired students. I like the idea of having one light on, if possible. I sometimes keep the light on peroid. Patricia
Hi Joel, I concur! Students have much respect for instructors who are very professional versus those instructors who are not professional. Patricia
Hi Charlene, This practice works well! You have a good view of the overall room. Patricia
