This module has taught me that interest, practice, purpose, and hope are essential ingredients for developing grit. I now understand that academic success is not solely about intellect or talent—it also depends on the cultivation of perseverance, self-control, hope, love, and gratitude in both instructors and students.

With this in mind, I plan to bring the Growth Mindset exercise into my classroom to help students reframe challenges as opportunities for growth. What I’ve Learned and How I Intend to Apply It

This module has helped me better understand the power of self-awareness and the importance of leveraging personal strengths with intention and integrity. After taking the strengths survey, I discovered that my top five strengths are Spirituality, Honesty, Creativity, Appreciation of Beauty and Excellence, and Perspective. These qualities deeply resonate with how I approach both life and teaching.

Through this module, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the importance of intentional reflection, empathy, and open-mindedness in both personal and professional settings. One of the most impactful takeaways for me has been the value of integrating well-being practices into my daily routine.

Moving forward, I will begin and end each workday with reflection, using the PERMA model and strength-spotting exercises to stay grounded, recognize growth, and maintain a positive outlook. This will help me stay aligned with my values and bring my best self to each day.
