Always include objectives and standards in your lesson plans to provide clarity for the training audience.

It's important for instructors to provide a rationale statement for the training, because this will provide relevancy for the training audience.

I've learned how important it is to conduct a baseline assessment of the knowledge and experience of your training audience, because learning plans can always be tailored to provide more effective training objectives.

I enjoyed how this course covered four different strategies for instruction. I think the key is a combination of them to use in your classroom and varying your instruction thought out a unit of study.

I use a combination of competency-based grading in a letter-grade format. This allows my students to always improve and still understand where they fall within a letter grading system.

Redirection is necessary when students become off-task. I wait or may do a task that hints at my students they should pay attention and eventually this will win the audience over.

I use a lot of YouTube videos to demonstrate welding techniques as this is effective for students to visualize without crowding into one booth

Guest speakers are an effective way to bring about real-world experience and application to the classroom setting.

Pay attention to the vibe in the room.  Be ready to change course.  Be ready for plan B.  Find solutions to students who are not at the same knowledge base.

Using a variety of visuals helps reach all students, keep them engaged and creating a great learning environment!
