The Flipped Classroom

Definietly food for thought, plan to integrate some of what was learned into the traditional classroom setting.  I struggle at times with the amount of information required for the students to know in such a short period of time.  Technology on campus would be a challenge to flipping the classroom, however other components could be incorporated, perhaps sending out the PP prior to class, then spending time discussing the PP rather than just lecturing at them.

Nursing has definitely taken notice of the overwhelming amount of knowledge we are teaching. The Conceptual Learning Model is an answer. In it the nurse will learn ther concept sucvh as oxygenation. Then he/she will be competent to care for the patient with impaired oxygenation instead of memorizing all the posssible diseases that are the cause. It takes critical thinking so that is a challange to teach, but the flipped classroom helps.
