Ive always known the difference between Empathic and Sympathetic, however I didn't realize until taking this course how much I listen and converse sympathetically, meaning i listen and respond how I relate instead of listening to what is being said and what they are going through and how its affecting them. Even though its important to be able to direct someone through personal experience, its always best to understand how the circumstance effects them so i can understand exactly what they are saying or asking for. I am now more aware and intend on listening more empathetically. This will also help me be less judgemental. Great Course!
